Earnings from Simple Bangladeshi Fair

A fair is a big gathering of people held occasionally in some open or indoor places in a town or beside a village. In the fair various local, national & international products are displayed for sale. There the artisans find a proper market. Potters, toy-makers, weavers, shopkeepers & many others look forward to a very brisk business when a fair is on. Artisans & businessmen of far & wide also assemble there with their wares & open stalls. People eagerly wait for the particular day of the fair. A fair is generally held once or twice a year. It lasts a couple of days, for a week or for a month. People of all ages gather at a fair. The young & the old, the rich & the poor, the saints & children come to the fair. A fair is a kind of exhibition of rural & urban arts or crafts such as toys, dolls, balloons, ribbons, cloths & garments, wooden utensils, ceramic, plastic & earthen pots, house hold-goods, bags, baskets, etc. Local sweetmeats of many types are placed for sale. Mini restaurants are available there. Children buy toys & fancy goods, young girls buy various kinds of cosmetics. Sweetmeats are the common purchase of the visitors. A fair is a source of recreation & earnings to the people. It has a great importance in our life. It encourages local arts, industry & agriculture & related people can earn significant money temporarily from it.

Democracy & Islam

Democracy is a form of government of the people, for the people & by the people. It means that supreme power lies with the people. But in Islamic democracy the supreme power lies only with Allah. Man is his representative. In traditional democracy the people have the right to select their chief administrator. The administrator is elected by the majority of voters. Once elected he becomes to administrative head but he cannot be a dictator. He is bound by some rules & regulations. On the other hand in Islamic democracy, the administrator is bound to follow the rules of Quran & Sunnah.
In traditional democracy the country is divided into some constituencies. From every constituency one member is elected by the people. All the members form a legislative assembly. A few members form a cabinet. The administrative head is assisted by the cabinet.
The members of the cabinet run the administration with the help of a bureaucracy. The administrative head, the cabinet, the bureaucracy are all responsible to the legislative assembly. If the administrative head or the president is corrupt the assembly can remove him.
In Islamic democracy also the administrator is removed when he corrupted. Because he is bound to follow Islamic Shariah. In this regard Imam Abu Hanifa said, “When the administrator breaks the rules of Islam then he is not worthy for this post.”

The Longest Beach in the World

It is my pride & privilege to write few lines on Cox’s Bazar-one of the longest natural beaches in the world. I have had the opportunity to visit Cox’s Bazar quite a number of times. Since then, commutations between Cox’s Bazar & other parts of the country have quite improved during few years & I must say that one should not miss the opportunity of making a trip to this wonderful place gifted to us by nature. Talking of communications, there are many bus & train services from Dhaka & Chittagong-really very convenient & comfortable. There are AC, non-AC & economical ways of transportation besides there is also air service for few days in a week from Chittagong & Dhaka. The best way is one can take a journey direct from Dhaka with a short stop at Chittagong & then to Cox’s Bazar or they can come to Chittagong for a day and make the trip to Cox’s Bazar. From Chittagong, it takes about three hour journey & roads are developed & smooth so there is no hassle on the way but can enjoy the scenic views whilst traveling. For accommodation there are ample numbers of hotels, motels, rest house, guesthouse & cottages. There is no problem for accommodation starting from luxurious to economical. It’s better to make reservations before arrival specially during the proper season & government holidays. During the stormy season there is fair discount in hotel tariff. At the beach, the main attraction is the sunset, which is awesome. There are speedboats or jeeps where one can avail rides & there are safety rings on hire to float with the waves. You can also hire beach umbrellas on hourly basis & sit & watch the waves until late. There are also many photographers around who are ready to take pictures and deliver them in short time. The other attractions are the large Buddhist monastery & Himchari, which is famous for its falls. Then there is Inani beach which is famous for the rock & coral boulders. From Cox’s Bazar sea shore, one can go to these place by jeep.There is also a Circuit house where the cox’s Bazar city & the sea can been seen from a height. So, there is so much to see & enjoy only when you are physically there. As mentioned above, I shall inspire everyone not to miss the chance of visiting this amazing zone which nature has so kindly gifted to us.Unfortunately, this is still awaiting to become a major tourist destination in Asia due to lack of publicity. But I am hopeful that within a short time Cox’s Bazar will achieve its goal which it deserved many years ago-Stephanie.

The International Mother Language Day

The role of language in human life is very great. Everyone in the world speaks & loves his own mother language. We are Bangladeshi speak in Bengali & Bengali is our mother language. To establish this language as the state language during the Pakistani regime there was a language movement. In this movement many Bengalis including some students like Asad, Salam, Barkat etc. sacrificed their lives on the 21st February in 1952 & as such the 21st February is regarded as a red-letter day in our national life.
Every year we the Bangladeshis remember this day with due respect. The day in declared as the govt. holiday & on this day the National flag remains half-mast. Now this day is very significant, because this day has been recognized by the UNESCO as the International Mother Language Day in its 30th General Assembly Meeting held in 1999 & we the Bangladeshis celebrated this recognition nationality on the 8th December of the year 1999. No nation of the world sheds their bloods to establish their language but we shed it. However, everybody should take care about his mother language in all aspects of his national life.

Hallo, I am a Bangladeshi citizen who loves his country & all creations of the world specially human & humane being. I deeply trust that men can be famous & respected by their honesty & justice. As a highly educated person, this is my realization.
